Medication Program

South Louisville Community Ministries is one of four community ministries able to provide prescription assistance through a grant received from Caritas Medial Center.  This program enables SLCM to assist clients with medicine monies each month.  We refer and/or assist clients in applying for the Patient Assistance Program (PAP). Depending on medications taken, clients may be able to receive free medicines from the PAP once paperwork is completed and they have been approved.

At SLCM we base client eligibility for our medicine program on the current Poverty Guidelines.  Some exceptions may apply due to a client’s financial circumstances. Normally, a client who comes in on a one-time basis may be allotted up to $100.00 in a calendar year. Those clients who are pending the Patient Assistance Program (PAP) may be helped up to three months in one calendar year.  The amount spent in those three months will be at the discretion of the social worker.

Currently we assist approximately 35 people a month with our medication program, and almost one half of those assisted are eligible for the PAP Program.

As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
